The Maryland Department of Health and Mental Hygiene has awarded a grant to the Center to provide skin cancer education to primary care providers on Maryland’s Eastern Shore. This award is one of several grants for implementation of a strategy of the Maryland Comprehensive Cancer Control Plan, which was released in July 2011. The Center will offer two live educational programs and an online course to enhance the skills of primary care physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants in the early detection of skin cancer. Details of the Eastern Shore trainings will be posted this fall.
