Ms. Rowland holds a Master of Science degree in Community Health Promotion from West Virginia University and a Master of Arts in International Studies from American University. She received her B.A. at the University of California, Berkeley. Prior to joining the Center she served as Executive Director of Allegany Health Right. She has expertise in public health program development, non profit management and access to care.

Roberta M. Herbst, MS

Ms. Herbst holds a Master of Science degree in Community Health Education from Towson University. She worked on the Cancer Prevention in Community Practice Program at MedChi, The Maryland State Medical Society from 1996 to 1998 and since 1998 has directed the Maryland Skin Cancer Prevention Program. Ms. Herbst currently serves as Manager for Program Development and Communications at the Center for a Healthy Maryland, where she is responsible for the development and oversight of grant funded projects.

Ms. Johnson received her Master of Public Health degree from Drexel University in 2006. During this time she also became  certified  as  a health education specialist (CHES). Prior to joining the Center staff, she worked for LifeBridge Health as a community health educator and  domestic violence educator/interventionist. Ms. Johnson works primarily on maternal and child health programs.

Ms. Hartwell received a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Towson University. She is currently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Community Health Education and Health Administration at Towson. She recently became certified as a health education specialist (CHES). Ms. Hartwell serves as Program Assistant to several of the Center’s grant funded activities.
