SUMMARY:Domestic Violence Awareness Month: Rest & Restore Hybrid Event
DESCRIPTION:Yoga For Renewal\n          \n\nJoin the Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Center for a Healthy Maryland for a restorative hybrid yoga event designed to support healing and renewal during Domestic Violence Awareness Month. \nThis event will be offered both in person at MedChi (1211 Cathedral Street\, Baltimore\, MD 21201) and virtually via Zoom. \nThe program will begin with a brief educational component highlighting the impact of trauma on emotional and physical health—and the possibilities for healing. Participants will then be guided through a 45-minute gentle seated or standing yoga session\, provided by Free Baltimore Yoga. The movements will be very beginner friendly\, and no prior experience is needed. There will be some breathwork instruction and focus on joints to create some ease in the body. Participants can opt in/out as they wish\, the primary goal of the practice is to listen to the body and do our best to give our bodies what they ask for. \nFree Baltimore Yoga is a community space that aims to be accessible\, trauma-informed\, nervous system focused\, and breath centered. We offer these movement sessions to encourage embodiment\, connection to self\, and connection to collective wellbeing. Survivors\, advocates\, health care workers\, and allied professionals are encouraged to attend. This event is free of charge and open to all who wish to join in a supportive space for wellness and renewal.
