SUMMARY:Domestic Violence Awareness Month Film Screening of Aftershock
DESCRIPTION:Please join as the Maryland Health Care Coalition Against Domestic Violence and the Center for a Healthy Maryland present an in-person screening of “Aftershock\,” in honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month\, at MedChi\, the Maryland State Medical Society. Following the screening\, there will be a panel discussion regarding the high rates of maternal mortality and morbidity for Black Women in the US\, racism within the healthcare system\, and the link to domestic violence. *Wine and popcorn will be included during the film screening. \nMore Information About the Film:  \nFollowing the preventable deaths of their loved ones due to childbirth complications\, two families galvanize activists\, birth-workers and physicians to reckon with one of the most pressing American crises of our time – the US maternal health crisis.
