Semi-Annual Meeting,

Ocean City, 1908

We have not sorted through even a dozen of boxes from the Maryland Center for History & Culture, and have found treasures galore. About half of the boxes of ephemera and all of the books are catalogued, but the rest of the ephemera is not.

With the semi-annual House of Delegates meeting coming up, we thought we’d share two photos from the 1908 “semi-annual” meeting, held in Ocean City in September of that year.

As you can see, some of our members took advantage of the still-warm ocean water to take a dip in their fetching bathing costumes, which were probably made of wool!

and J.C. Colby

Luckily, they put their clothes on later and posed for a photo in front of what was probably their hotel.
